On May 3, 2023, the Wachusett Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors joined representatives from the Town of Holden and the Massachusetts State House to officially welcome JM Scully Jewelers to town. The occasion was marked with a Ribbon Cutting ceremony at the 697 Main Street store.
Numerous friends, family members and associates were also in attendance to celebrate the store's Grand Opening. Business owner and on-site jeweler, John Scully, did the honors of cutting the ribbon - as well as the first piece of cake, to commemorate the occasion!
A Holden resident and professional jeweler for over 40 years, John Scully has honed his craft in a number of fine jewelry stores in Massachusetts and Rhode Island - most recently at Pucci's in West Boylston, where he spent the past 27 years of his career.
After his previous employers sold Pucci's and retired, John decided to go out on his own, and he "soft-opened" his new business at the former Brilla Coffee location on April 1st of this year.
"I could have easily retired," said John. "But I truly love what I do and I wasn't ready to give it up. It has always been a dream of mine to have my own store, and I am grateful to all those who have supported my efforts to make it happen. I'm looking forward to serving the local community."
